MOSS BEACH
The owner of this coastal Moss Beach cottage, just 25 miles from San Francisco, reached out when a previous architect had delivered an addition and renovation design that was too large and too over budget. Dee downsized the project but saved valuable time and money by staying within the envelope previously approved by the Coastal Building Commission. Her new layout took advantage of natural light and divided the great room into specific and succinct areas to create an open, yet cozy, living space.
Enhanced details included raised beamed ceilings, wood floors, larger windows, a built-in bookcase and custom stair railing. A master bath, walk in closet and two new exterior decks were added to the house and its exterior was shingled to complement the old victorian homes which pepper the neighborhood.
