Seaside Shingle Style

On the sand at Silver Strand beach in Ventura County, this existing house had an extremely small deck off the Living spaces on the 2nd Floor and the windows and doors needed to be enlarged to take advantage of the ocean view.

Two large steel frames were added to expand the windows and doors, creating an indoor-outdoor feel for the Living spaces. This was crucial as the winds often make it hard to be outside.

The massing of the existing house lent itself to a modified Shingle Style transformation.
